Orthodoxy also does not believe in reincarnation but does believe there is a Great Mystery of which we do not know here on Earth. I would invite you to check it out as it is not really an “ evangelical” church in the common sense of the word. We try to live our faith and I’m sorry I am such a poor example of that please do not take whatever I say as dogma in fact Orthodoxy is not “ dogmatic” in the common sense of the word either. It is really concerned I think I need to always clarify these are my thoughts on what Orthodoxy is the name clearly meaning right worship. The church follows many traditions from ages and ages ago but it is the “ living” Body of Christ as each one of us are His hands and feet and arms in this world so in order for us to be so we must first and always and this is really the foundation of the faith I think we must always look to our own heart purify our own heart and love God with all our body mind and soul and heart and our neighbor as ourselves. Living our neighbor is how we show love to God but who of us can honestly say he does that? Not me I am the worst very selfish and egotistical for sure I have a lifetime to repent for but as St Siloaun says we keep our mind in hell but despair not because Christ has overcome for us reconciled us to God and we will have, do have, and are having salvation through Him. Sorry for the long comment I preach to myself! Lol!

Interesting thought I have wondered if I was given the chance to live my life over would I take it - as I am 65 now it seems a little tempting. To be young and vibrant not unsteady full of arthritis and wrinkles but really I would not live my life over. I believe my Creator called me from non- existence into being because He desired a relationship with me! Me personally!! I believe God loves and does not cease to do all that is for us even when we fall or choose to turn away. ( If this sounds familiar it is what your soul knows and is also part of the Eastern Orthodox Liturgy ) we have one life - God create time and space like everything else for us as well as Eternity with Him through our Saviour Jesus Christ. This is what I think. But seek for yourself we all have this life in order to do that and as long as we have breath and God sustains our world and our lives each moment is a potential miracle a potential turn around towards newness discovery and Mercy. Most of all I believe God is Merciful and will bring us home; this to us in keeping with the Orthodox Faith that holds the mystery of our Father and how He works as incomprehensible a Love beyond human understanding.

I am Eastern Orthodox baptized in the Atlantic Ocean 🌊 during Covid in 2021 took a long time to find the faith of the Apostles. The One Church was together until the schism in 1054 when the Catholic Church declared a pope. Orthodoxy just continued on keeping on with the “ work of the people” the Liturgy. It is a beautiful way to truly worship God and be in communion with Him that is His goal we believe for each and everyone personally to know Christ, love Christ and live as Christ in tune with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Peace friend

This is very thoughtful, Diffson. It prompts me to recall the following passage from "Universal Philosophy" by Jaqueline Berger

[Disclaimer: The concepts of Cosmic phases and alternative spiritual universes (and especially reincarnation) are still way over my head but I recently read the following. I am not really concerned as to HOW one comes to these insights … Whether one takes this literally or allegorically as a parable, this is profound – it explains “why we are wired differently”.]

“If one has trigones in the chart, these are qualities of acquired Consciousness that will help guide one naturally, infallibly towards the Good in this or these domains. This is why some beings seem predisposed to act in a good way. They have already decided to do so before their incarnation because they have already become aware of it through previous incarnations. They have already become aware after death of their past mistakes and have resolved not to commit them again.

Why do some beings not choose the same path? Because they lacked the experience in the previous life to be able to become aware after death of the mistakes they made, and they will not yet be able to make a positive choice. They will have to go through corresponding ordeals.

The ordeal may have taken place without the person being aware of it. For example, if a person is not confronted with the problem of historical truth in this life, he or she will not be able to become aware of it though the test in the spiritual world. It will take another incarnation for him to become aware. But if the person was able to hear the testimony of a revisionist and did not accept it, in the spiritual world she will realize her mistake and become aware. She will decide to do everything to live this truth well in her next incarnation.

As we can see, the testimony of the revisionist has been decisive. even if it has not bear fruit here below. One reaps in the sky and not on earth. Here on earth, one only reaps what has already been sown in a previous life. We only convince the convinced, or at most those who have already decided before their incarnation to let themselves be convinced. For the true spiritual evolution is prepared here on earth by the ordeals undergone but is lived in the spiritual.”
